Malaysia Airlines Offers 4632 Extra Seats for Travellers During the National School Holidays


24 May 2012, Subang: Malaysia Airlines (www.malaysiaairlines.com) is mounting additional flights to various domestic and regional destinations in conjunction with the upcoming school holidays.
A total of 20 extra flights and 16 upgraded flights will be operated between now till 10th June 2012. These flights are operated on routes covering popular destinations like Phuket, Kuching, Miri, Kota Kinabalu, Alor Setar and Kota Bahru. The extra flights provide an additional capacity of 3660 seats while the upgraded flights will be offering an additional of 972 seats, making it a total of 4632 extra seats.
These extra and upgraded flights are expected to complement domestic and regional tourism activities as well as enable Malaysians to visit their friends and relatives during the holidays.
Malaysia Airlines will continue to monitor the demand and add more capacity on sectors where there is further demand. Some must visit tourist places include the Phuket Seashell Museum for a fun yet educational experience. The museum is home to about 2,000 shell species from all over the world. Apart from the scenic beaches and activities like snorkeling and scuba diving, your kids can also enjoy various waterfall spots at Phuket.
At Kuching, children can be introduced to the rich cultures of Sarawak in the Sarawak Cultural Village. The splendid cultural show will only make them proud to be Malaysians. In Kota Kinabalu, the kids can be off for a little adventure at The Kiulu River white water rafting. Miri offers the Miri Reef which is one of Malaysia’s most recently discovered diving locations. In this patch of reefs is a variety of coral and marine life that rivals the best anywhere in Borneo.
If you're in to taste some delicious food, Kota Bahru is the place to go. Nasi berlauk, Nasi Dagangand Nasi Kerabu are popular local cuisine. Kelantanese also have a liking for sweet cakes or kuih. These include apom, akok, lompat tikam, netbak, pisang goreng, curry puff and much more.
Those flying to Alor Setar can do some shopping at Pekan Rabu. Although the name literally means “Wednesday Market”, this market is open all week long, and sells a variety of items from tidbits to beautiful handicraft. This is a popular spot amongst tourists and locals and is a source of pride for Kedahans.
