Tourism Malaysia unveiled its new Global Television Campaign today at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London. The Acting Director General of Tourism Malaysia, Dato’ Azizan Noordin, officially launched the campaign during the Cocktail Reception on 7 November at the Malaysia Pavilion. Beginning today, the commercials will be screened simultaneously over 13 television channels around the world namely Al-Jazeera, Phoenix TV, AXN Asia, BBC World, Eurosport, CNN, MTV Asia, Discovery Channel, TLC, History Channel, National Geographic Channel, STAR TV and Sky News.

Tourism Malaysia’s new Global Television Campaign carries the concept of ‘TIME’, revolving around the premise of how a tourist can experience a great time holidaying in Malaysia. The commercials communicate the promise of a unique and enjoyable time in a value-for-money holiday destination. Among the attractions featured in the commercials are Malaysia’s multi-cultural heritage, natural wonders, homestay, parks & gardens, beaches, islands, shopping, cuisine and nightlife. “Time is a powerful device that creates urgency, creates memories, creates relationship and conveys to the traveller this irresistible promise … ‘Now’s the time, why wait? Have the best time of your life. Malaysia, Truly Asia’,” Dato’ Azizan Noordin elaborated on the concept of ‘TIME’ in the new Global Television Campaign. “Time is a concept that delivers the message that Malaysia is the destination for a vacation beyond imagination,” Dato’ Azizan explained further.

The commercials are categorised as Global Television Campaign as they are not region-centric and will run across every market in the world. As Malaysia attracts tourists from all over the world, these commercials serve as a logical marketing solution where a uniform creative will illustrate to travellers in every geographical region the various attractions in the country.

Besides, Malaysia is also capitalising on the changing landscape of the global travel and tourism industry where the rapid increase in travel choices nowadays such as destinations, flight frequency and connection, and accommodation, have given travellers numerous options when it comes to travel. With the country being presented as a value-for-money destination with diverse unique attractions, Tourism Malaysia’s new Global Television Campaign is set to attract more tourists from all around the world to Malaysia.
