Greening Putrajaya

The developer of the country’s administrative capital, Putrajaya Holdings (PJH), held a tree-planting programme recently. The event saw the planting of 50 trees at the Putrajaya district police headquarters in Precinct 7. The initiative was taken as part of PJH’s corporate social responsibility towards making a sustainable future for the community in Putrajaya.

It was also to demonstrate PJH’s support and participation in the Local Agenda 21 (LA21) programme. Putrajaya Holdings director and CEO Datuk Azlan Abdul Karim, who planted a mata kucing tree to mark the start of the event said: “At Putrajaya Holdings, we believe in emphasising the importance of the environment and its conservation by planting trees. “Today’s event is another example of our commitment as a good corporate citizen to the Putrajaya community and to express our support for the Local Agenda 21,” he said. Local Agenda 21 is a programme to form a partnership as well as cohesiveness between the local authority and the local community and private sector to plan and manage the environment towards achieving sustainable development.
